North Pender Island: election results and bylaw check

Preliminary count. Housing amendments at first reading. Checked October 21, 2026.

The North Pender Firestarter · Governance · 2026-10-21 · updated 2026-10-22 · North Pender Island

Trustee election

Preliminary count. Brenna Mongeon: 490 votes (leading, preliminary); Niall Parker: 419 votes (leading, preliminary); Aaron Campbell: 381 votes; Michael Cowan: 290 votes; Morgan Hayward: 78 votes. The Trust labels these counts preliminary. The top two are shown as leading, pending an official declaration.[1]

Housing amendments at first reading

The posted text of housing land-use amendment 241 records first reading on October 2. The paired OCP amendment is 240. Readings and adoption are separate steps; we have not verified later readings or adoption in this check.[2][3]

Other local votes

The CRD also lists Rob Fawcett elected by acclamation as Southern Gulf Islands Electoral Area director. This is a regional-district office, separate from the Islands Trust trustee seats.[4]

The new term

The Trust says trustees will be sworn into office on November 12, followed by Council meetings on November 13 and 14. Current officeholders remain in office until the new term. The Council meeting will include elections for the Executive Committee and Conservancy Board positions.[5]

This is a dated public-record check, covering the local trust area and its associated islands. A preliminary count is not an official declaration; readings, approval and adoption are separate steps. Candidate vote totals are not a count of voters. Regional-district and school electoral boundaries differ from Trust-area boundaries; other offices are identified separately. This check is not a full re-audit of every bylaw.
