Staff will send a mailout to property owners whose parcels contain at least part of the proposed updated Raptor Nest Development Permit Area 7, including parcels affected only by seasonal buffering areas, after the North Pender Island Local Trust Committee approved the direction at its January 31 meeting.[1]

The committee also asked staff to investigate whether a service contract with Caurinus Environmental Consulting could provide additional help with property-owner enquiries about nesting-tree locations and features.[1]

Trustees requested an amendment to the project charter adding a $5,000 budget line for the 2025-26 fiscal year for additional consultation, a public hearing and contingency; the motion carried.[1]

Island Planner Brad Smith told the committee that referral responses were being received and that Islands Trust Conservancy had provided additional information for a report at an upcoming meeting.[1]
