The North Pender Board of Variance denied an application to enclose part of a covered deck, finding that undue hardship would not result from complying with the land-use bylaw; the applicants could instead seek a development variance permit through the Local Trust Committee.[1]
Board members said there appeared to be space for alternative designs and that the property was not substantially different from neighbouring properties in a way that warranted a variance.[1]
