The North Pender Island Board of Variance approved application NP-BOV-2023.3, with a condition that the concrete footings and deck supports be sited at least 0.60 m farther back to the north from the deck’s encroachment within 5.64 m of the front lot line.[1]
The minutes say the applicant offered to reduce the deck from 8 feet to 7 feet or move its posts back by 2 feet.[1]
The board’s resolution said it found that complying with the setback provision would cause undue hardship to the applicant, and approved the application with the stated condition.[1]
The hearing was held electronically on June 13, 2023, and adjourned at 3:00 p.m.[1]
